Diversity
Ziba, 37 years, Winterhude
What makes Hamburg the most beautiful city for me is its diversity. The cultural diversity also enriches the city and makes it particularly enjoyable to live in for me. I live in the beautiful district of Winterhude. A place that, for me, offers me the perfect mix of urban life and nature. The proximity to the Alster, the many canals, the city park, as well as the small cafés and historic buildings make it so special to me. I feel very much comfortable here and enjoy living here. Every neighbourhood has its own charm. A spontaneous visit to an exhibition, a concert or simply a walk along the Alster – I particularly love Hamburg in spring and summer, when the city reveals its full beauty and is alive late into the evening.
Museums are my favourite places. For me, they are not only places of calm and reflection, but also spaces of dialogue where I can meet people on a deeper level, especially during my work in two museums where I give guided tours. I am especially committed to enable cultural participation and to create space for the valuable exchange that emerges on a deeper level through art, providing access to thoughts and feelings that often remain hidden in everyday life. My hope for Hamburg is that it continues to be a cosmopolitan place, one that inspires people, brings them together, and connects people and gives them space to flourish.
