Harbor Sky

Klaus Bernhard, 57 years, St. Georg

I moved to Hamburg a good two years ago. Before that, I lived in Berlin. My favourite place in Hamburg is the habour. I like the change. The habour of Hamburg looks different every day. Not just because of the ships, but above all because of the sky. There are few cities in Germany where the sky changes as often and impressively as in Hamburg. Daily and hourly. I’ve got into the habit of taking a camera with me when I’m out and about at the harbour to capture this constant spectacle. Most of the time, it’s a mobile phone camera, but sometimes it’s an old analogue camera. I mainly take the pictures for myself. But sometimes I also share them, for example with my parents, who can no longer travel. That way, they can be part of the harbour sky.

“My Hamburg” is definitely the harbour – and its sky.
